Clanker Workspace is the browser-based place where you work with AI in Clanker Cloud. You can research a question, write a document, inspect a spreadsheet, build an App, or use an Agent for a familiar job. Projects keep the related files and instructions together, and Sessions hold the conversations where you get the work done.
Its value becomes clearer when you follow one task through the interface. Suppose you need a supplier decision brief. You want the proposals, comparison, questions, and finished recommendation available when a colleague asks about the decision next month.
Start in a Session
A Session is a conversation with an outcome. Say what you need, which sources to use, and who will read the result. Attach relevant files or start inside the Project that already contains them.
For the fictional supplier review, your opening request might be:
Compare the two proposals in this Project for our operations lead. Show price, scope, delivery, and cancellation terms with source locations. Keep missing terms visible. Save a short comparison file for review before drafting a recommendation.
You can ask questions, review progress, and request corrections in the same Session. Settings include approval choices; use Ask when you want to review changes first. A request to prepare a recommendation should describe the work you want, including whether any further action is intended.
Give ongoing work a Project
A Project groups work that shares context. In this example, “Supplier decision” could hold the purchasing brief, proposals, comparison, and Project instructions explaining the evaluation criteria.
Create a separate Session for the negotiation questions while keeping it in that Project. Both tasks need the same packet, but each conversation has a different purpose. The Projects, Sessions, and Agents walkthrough explains how to choose these boundaries.
General is useful for everyday work that has no separate Project yet. A named Project helps when you expect to return to the sources, produce several outputs, or keep different clients' work distinct.
Open the work beside the conversation
Saved output belongs in Files, where you can find it again. Open a Project’s Files tab, or open Space beside a Session and choose a file. Files and Apps can open in their own preview tabs, letting you inspect the result while continuing the conversation.
Ask for the change you can point to: “The delivery row treats a proposed date as confirmed. Correct that row and the recommendation that depends on it.” Opening the artifact makes feedback more precise than asking for a better answer in general.
Download the reviewed file when you need to use it outside Workspace, or share the file privately for a reviewed handoff. The file preview article covers documents, sheets, slides, and the checks that suit each format.
Add the surfaces your task needs
You can grow a useful setup gradually:
| Surface | What it contributes to the supplier example |
|---|---|
| Agent | A reusable proposal-review role with selected capabilities. |
| Skill | A method for comparing stated terms and identifying gaps. |
| App | A private interface for exploring a comparison or tracker. |
| Bookmarks | A useful reply you want to revisit. |
| Archive → Wiki | A sourced explanation of the decision worth keeping. |
| Loop or Schedule | A separately configured task that checks for updates again. |
Use custom Agents when a role repeats, and Apps when the output needs an interface. Hosted recurring work requires its own setup and tested inputs. An ordinary Session can be useful on its own.
Bring your preferred agent when it helps
Workspace also offers connection paths for compatible external agents. MCP lets an external assistant use approved Workspace tools; BYOA connects a supported agent runtime. The available capabilities and setup differ, so choose the route for the assistant you actually use.
For a first visit, bring one task and a small source packet, or try the first task walkthrough. Finish with a file you have opened and reviewed. When you return to ongoing work, the files and context give you a useful starting point.
For business work, choose a task such as sales follow-ups, onboarding, or inventory review. Start with its sample inputs and check the result before building a larger workflow.
