Your first Workspace task can be small: take a few notes, turn them into a useful update, and save a file you can find again. This gives you a tour of Projects, Sessions, and file previews through work you can check yourself.
You can begin in your browser. A desktop connection is needed when the task requires access to your own computer's apps or local files; this example uses text you provide directly to Workspace.
Create a home for the example
Open Workspace and create a Project named Practice update. Use its Files tab for source material and its Instructions tab for preferences you want later tasks to share. A one-off trial can also begin in General, but a named Project makes this exercise easy to revisit.
Start a Session in that Project. Select an available Agent suitable for writing and choose Ask if you want to review changes first.
For the trial, paste these fictional notes:
Practice launch update — 13 October
Maya completed the draft page layout.
Ravi is reviewing the product descriptions.
The supplier has not confirmed the image delivery date.
We discussed Friday for the next review, but did not agree it.
No customer announcement has been approved.
These notes are intentionally incomplete. A useful first result should preserve the gaps, making the trial more informative than a sample where every fact is settled.
Ask for a result you can inspect
Send this request with the notes:
Turn these fictional notes into a short internal update. Use sections for completed work, work in progress, blockers, and open decisions. Keep the supplier delivery date unknown and Friday tentative. Do not imply that the customer announcement is approved. Save the result as practice-update.md in this Project and show me where to open it. Do not send or share it.
Read the draft in the conversation. The output should distinguish Maya's completed work, Ravi's review, the missing delivery date, and the unconfirmed review day.
If it turns Friday into a commitment, ask for that specific correction. Keep feedback about the facts separate from stylistic preferences so you can tell whether the important issue was fixed.
Open the saved result
Open Space beside the Session and select the file from Files, or visit the Project's Files tab. A file preview lets you read the artifact rather than relying only on the completion message.
Check these four points:
| Item from the notes | Expected treatment |
|---|---|
| Draft page layout | Completed by Maya. |
| Product descriptions | Being reviewed by Ravi. |
| Image delivery date | Not confirmed. |
| Friday review and announcement | Tentative review; announcement not approved. |
The filename should be practice-update.md, and the file should contain the reviewed text. Markdown is convenient for this first exercise because the content is easy to inspect. You can later request a document, spreadsheet, or presentation suited to your real task.
Make one revision and find it again
Ask for a shorter version that puts the blocker first. Open the updated file and check that the unresolved facts remain visible. Download it if you want a copy outside Workspace.
Then leave the Session and return through the Project's Files tab. Finding the output without searching the whole conversation is part of the exercise. The Project holds the work; the Session retains the discussion behind it.
For a second task, try the weekly report starter with your own appropriate source material. Use the Workspace tour to explore Agents, Apps, and saved knowledge when you have a reason to add them.
